He had been on edge for dayz – staring, gazing, focusing, glaring, peering, looking, watching, squinting, gawking, leering – the moon had gone down and then, the next night, it had come up again. His hungry belly bellowed, but the smelly deli was closed. He looked out through the windowz – thinking, comprehending, regarding, understanding, considering, reckoning, realizing, gathering, analyzing, speculating, sorting, judging, meditating, evaluating, mulling, musing, rationalizing – and hardly noticed as the moon went down and up again.

I knew I had to do something.

This man, this human, this gop of goo, this pile of bones, this combination of neurons and nerves and nervous system connected to muscles and organs. And Blood!

I KNEW THEN THAT I LOVED HIM
